Course Objectives:
• To develop, from conception to completion, an original small client
brand identity system including a brand identity mark (logo). Identifying,
structuring and solving projects that are parts of the whole branding
identity system.
• To organize and present complex information.
• To create original, thoughtful conceptual solution, developing and designing
powerful means to communicate ideas.
• To develop a creative brief and design strategy to define and address specific
audiences.
• To demonstrate independent, critical thinking and self-assessment skills; to
discuss, support, present and critique iceas and proposed solutions of yours
and your peers.
Project Overview:
There will be five finished projects due over the course of the semester, four of
which must be components of a small client branding identity campaign.
• Logo Design (optional: application of the logo to Stationery, envelop and bus. card)
• Poster Design
• Narrative Sequence with Typographic System (for ex. Booklet or Brochure)
• Website Design (information-based)
• An open project (You have the option to link it with your small client campaign):
ephemera, motion graphics sequence, interior/exterior signage, vendor/
patron gift or product, package design, educational tools, event invitation.
